The lawyer your family deserves: for the next twenty years, not just the next twenty minutes.
We are deliberately small. Three senior attorneys, no juniors, no surprise hand-offs. The lawyer who answers your first call is the lawyer who will be at your signing, and the one who picks up the phone a decade later. That continuity is the product.
Who We Are
We are a boutique estate planning law firm serving families, entrepreneurs, and closely-held businesses across New York, New Jersey, and Connecticut. Founded in 2003, we have built one practice for one purpose: to be the lawyer our clients wish every lawyer would be: competent and present, expert and human.
We do not try to be everything to everyone. We have chosen three disciplines and we go deep on each: estate planning, estate administration and probate, and small-business and corporate law. We do not dabble. When a matter falls outside our lane, we say so and send you to a trusted specialist. That discipline is part of why our clients stay with us across three generations.
What Makes Us Different
Three things, in our experience, distinguish us from the rest:
1. We treat estate planning as an emotional act, not a transaction. Drafting a will or revocable trust is one of the most personal things a person can do. It surfaces what you care about, who you trust, and what you fear. We give that material the time and care it deserves. Meetings run as long as they need to. Hard family conversations are met with empathy, not a stopwatch.
2. We educate so that you decide. Our clients leave their first meeting able to explain their plan back to us. We walk through every document, every decision point: what it does, why it is there, what happens if we choose differently. The goal is understanding, not mystique.
3. We are still here in twenty years. An estate plan is a living document. Tax law shifts, families grow, states are crossed, businesses are sold. We do not draft and disappear. We offer ongoing review. Your plan grows with your family.
How We Work
Behind every engagement are four commitments we make and keep:
- Senior counsel on every matter. You will not be handed off to an associate you have never met.
- The What, the Why, and the How. Every recommendation comes with a plain-English explanation. By signing day, you understand your plan as well as we do.
- Flat-fee basic estate planning. You will know the price before we begin and you can call as often as you need without the meter running.
- Decades of follow-through. We revisit, refresh, and rework your plan as your life and the law change, for as long as you want us to.
The People
Three senior attorneys. One hundred combined years in practice. Big-firm pedigree, small-firm presence.
Daniel B. Faizakoff leads the estate and corporate practice. Richard H. Wender is the firm's senior tax and cross-border authority. Ripal J. Gajjar is our seasoned litigator.
Every attorney on this page is someone you will actually work with. That is not a marketing promise. It is how we run the firm.
Recognition
We have been named to Super Lawyers year after year, an honor bestowed on only the top 5% of attorneys in each state, and rated AV Preeminent by Martindale-Hubbell, the highest peer-review rating available in the legal industry. We are grateful for those honors. The recognition that matters more is the client who calls us back twenty years later, or who introduces us to her son, or to her business partner. That is the only review system we actually compete in.
Our Offices
We work from offices in midtown Manhattan (the Graybar Building, above Grand Central) and Stamford, Connecticut, chosen so that clients across the tri-state can sit across from us without a long drive. Many clients prefer to meet by Zoom or phone, and we work however suits you.
Experienced counsel,
uncommonly present.
A deliberately small team of senior attorneys with decades of practice and the broad perspective that comes from serving a wide range of sophisticated clients.
